I am seriously considering getting a cleaner at the moment. I found it easier to get my housework done when i taught full time than I do now I am minding! On the basis that it is the mindees making the mess and I would not need a cleaner if I was not childminding, can I claim the cost of a cleaner on expenses?

I think you can claim a percentage of the rooms used by mindees, someone who's got a cleaner is best answering this one:)

I divide the cost by the number of rooms in the house and then multiply it by the rooms that the mindees use, including the bedrooms that I use so I do claim a lot of it

Thats good to know Debbie - I have gone ahead and have one starting next week anyway (hoorah :clapping: ). My whole house is registered anyway, and mindees use all but 2 of the bedrooms so will probably put the majority of it through my books! Thanks for the reply.
 ............
is off to look for a cleaner
