can anyone recommend a good web site for getting business cards?

Ideally looking for one of these freebie sites which you just pay postage. As sure I won't need that many for starting out..

Has anyone ever used them ?

vistaprint is very good but be careful when you go throught the checkout not to sign up for the 'club' thingy as they take £10 a month out your account, other than that they are great for freebies xxx

I use Vistaprint.co.uk. If you get on their mailing list they send you lots of emails about free products, where you only pay the postage.

But you just need to watch out- when you've placed your order a page comes up to offer you some membership thing. Think it costs £10 a month but if you don't read it carefully you can click your agreement to this, thinking you're just completing your order. But as long as you read everything before you click its fine.

I've used Vistaprint several times for the freebies, including business cards, postcards, address labels and letter headed paper.

All free except the p&p

They do keep emailing you afterwards but you don't have to purchase anything else unless you need it

Make sure you don't sign up to anything with them though as it will cost you money

Looks like we get them from Vistaprint then

Yeah I also use Vistaprint. I'm really pleased with al the things i've ordered, Business Cards, Brochures, Invitations, Thank You Cards. Everything has always arrived in good time & you can design your own or use there templates.

You sure do get tons of emails afterwards, but i just don't bother reading them.:)

I make my own business cards using Print Shop on my computer.

I love playing around with stuff like that - making return address labels, stationery, posters and business cards. I've been doing it for years and it's really fun. Plus, the software makes them look professional.

I have just ordered some I paid 19.99 for 500 from vistaprint. You can have 250 free but i would rather pay for the delux ones. I think 500 for £20 is a bargin! Can't wait to get them, they look well posh:D

If you do unwittingly clink on the premier club stuff, you get 30 days free and at any time you just go to the "your account " bit enter your account number and cancel your membership.

I know cos I was the muppet who cliked by accident

I used vistaprint - the only thing that annoyed me was the amount of emails they send you at least one every day

I know a lot of people will not have the time to have fun trying making themselfs, but if you do get the time it's fun seeing what you can do. I've always made my own and you feel like you have done something worth while when you get a phone call of a parent who read your card. But the sites for free cards most be fun.

Here is a card i made tonight as i've lost my others when i got my new pc  now have to start making them again.

John.

Both your cards are lovely. I haven't got a clue how to post a thumbnail pic of mine so if anyone's got any tips...

Do I have to upload a pic to somewhere like Photobucket and then post a link on here? I think it'd show up as a huge pic on here if I did that.

I just save my pic in my photos on my computer and then when you post a reply click on the paperclip at the top in the toolbar and then you can attach your pic. But if it is too big it will have to be a photobucket job which I ain't no good at:D

This is mine. Sorry for the poor photo. I blanked out part of my address and phone numbers. It's not that I don't trust forum members, more the fact that you never know who's out there!

The ones I put in shop windows don't have my address on - they follow a similar theme but with more info on qualifications.

I wonder if anyone local recognises me from them :)

I have a template that you can use if you have Microsoft Word. I don't use it and I can't remember where I got it either, but you are welcome to have it.

The picture can be changed if wanted.
