You may remember I had a bit of a dilemma over a day trip to Eureka science museum with my childminding network a few weeks ago. To cut a long story short, a parent wasn't sure whether she wanted her child to go.

Anyway after a lot of fuss, she finally gave permission for him to go.

Today was the day. Train was due to leave at 9.30am so I set off 3/4 of an hour beforehand (plenty of time to get there and get parked). Would you believe it I got stuck in traffic because of an accident due to the snow and missed the train, so after all that we never went.

I am well and truly peeved. :(

I came home and sulked for a while. Kids were ok because I hadn't told them too much except that they were going on the train. Just promised them that I would take them on the train another day.

Poor things were stuck in the car for over an hour. The cbeebies cd went round about 3 times which was grating on me after a while.

Aaahh Marie that is so annoying

On the up side at least you hadn't told the children where they were going which would have added to their disappointment!

Hope you managed to have a good day.

Just spoken to my network coordinator and 4 other childminders didn't make it either so it wasn't just me.

On the up side, Eureka have given complimentary tickets for the people who didn't make it, so we're going to go in the near future hopefully. :D

Why would a parent not want their child to go out on a lovely trip. I must admit all my parents love it when i take them out for a day. I would as well i think it is above and beyond what some minders do.

You will have to go another day. We had no snow in surrey.:panic:
