Hi is there a minimum age of someone picking up there family from my setting ?? thanks Gail

I think as long as parents are happy then it can be done. Personally I would not release a child to a minor - safeguarding children issue here for me.

If the parent was in the car and visible I would let a child go with a sibling.

Thanks Deb the person in question is 17 nearly 18 ! I'll write a letter for the parent to giving them permission to do it? That should be ok!

ive wrote in my policies that no under 16's can pick up unless they are the childs parents.

I would say the minimum would have to be 16, anyone younger would not be responsible to collect. I used to work in a nursery and our policy was 16 not sure if there is a legal age, you would have to speak to the parents.

i was also under the impression no-one under the age of 16 can pick up/drop off.
