Hi I am thinking of asking if my son could be my assistant, has anyone got their son as their assistant?
How do I go about it?
Any help/advise would be greatful. :D

My son is my assistant, mainly becuase I can use his tax allowance! He does work for me though.

I filled in exactly the same forms as a normal assistant - the EY2 and everything goes from there. You also need parental permission and a employers liability insurance certificate (this is free from NCMA if you tell them he is a student). To be left on his own he needs to do a first aid qualification and be 18.

As long as he doesn't earn over the tax threshold the IR do not need to be advised as he is just an expense BUT you do need to keep a log of hours and money earned. I have a sheet for both if you pm me your email address.
