The Frantic Hunt

A Little Story for you all:


Couple of days ago DH mentioned that the car needed taxing soon, in a whirlwind of a zillion other things to do I just 'yesyes'ed'.

This morning DH mentioned again that the car is out of tax today as its 1st November.

:eek: :eek: says I.
Where is the DVLA reminder I ask him - as the car is in his name.
Dunno is his reply - have you not got it? he asks

Eeeer no - its a letter that comes in your name - I don't open your mail.

Cue hunt for the reminder.......


Some time later...... he asks me where the car documents are..... we'll have to tax it at the Post Office tomorrow......

Cue hunt for car documents..... nowhere to be found....
DH insists that I have them, eeerrrrr no I don't - they are your documents says I - why would I have them?

apparently I had them last:rolleyes: :eek:

cue more hunting.......



much more time later........

I think to oneself:idea: am I sure that the car needs taxing - it seems awfully soon...... (making note to self that documents and reminder need finding)....

so I bravely walk outside to the car in the lashing, cold, driving rain to check the tax disc....


and lo and behold





the darned




ruddy




tax disc that my DH insisted that needed replacing





actually runs out END of November:doh: :phew: :doh:



no wonder there is no reminder (but we still need to find the documents anyway)


Moral of the Story- DO NOT LISTEN TO DH

both of our cars needed taxing this month and luckily i can do it online so don't need to find any of the docs as goodness knows where they are but of course it will be my fault if they are lost
