I didnt realise it was book week - normally the primary school mark it with a dress as your favourite book character day. But they havent done anything this year.

I dont want to put down in the newsletter that we are doing everything incase we dont get round to it. And tbh all mine are aged 2 and under and wouldnt have much clue what we were celebrating anyway!!!

my birthday is on the 26th!! You can actually celebrate that as it is also the Austrian national holiday celebrating independence and neutrality after the occupation after WW2..!!
there will be lots of military parades and flyovers
a lot of museums will be open for free and a lot of people will go on cycle rides and walks through the countryside
schools are closed and most people will be off work...

We did Grandparents Day last week.

This week is Children Book Week and we are making bookmarks.

21 October is Apple Day so we are making baked apples. See latest Who Minds.

Then there is Autumn and Harvest . . . I 'pinched' the great idea of making wooden spoon scarecrows from this great forum.

And we are combining Halloween and a birthday tea for my son who is turning 5 (my kids and mindees).
