Just got back from the risk assessment course. It was only 2 hours and wasnt too bad, i do think it could of been a bit better more explained.

We did get a cd so gonna go throuh that and see whats on it. Just feels like every little thing a risk assessment has to be done to show we are recording it.

How does everyone else feel about risk assessments and recording?

I think it can be a bit OTT tbh and really you even have to risk assess how you risk assess lol

As long as the main stuff is recorded.

So much is common sense and you would do it automatically, just a pain it all has to be recorded.

Hi Polly

Even though you say your behind, you must risk assess all the time in your head but ofsted want proof of this so i would just create a check list of all the things you are doing in your head and sign it off regualry.

You need to show risk assessment for outting aswell, eg walking, car, places you go to.

We were told lastnight if you go to a place regulary like soft play, farm etc you can ask them for their risk assessment becuase you are a childminder and that saves you some of the work.

Hope this helps
