Hi, I really dont understand this rising 5!
My son is 4 and know in full time school, working on my own i am allowed 2 under 5 and 2 over 5.
When working with an assistant i am allowed 6 under 5 and 2 over 5, where does this leave me can i take on an extra child while my son is at school and do i need to ring ofted for a new certificate ect

hope it makes sence, thanks xxxx

If he is in 10 sessions a week school, then you can get your certificate changed so that you are allowed another child under 5.

Give Ofsted a ring tomorrow and let them know :D

Be careful with your numbers though, because you will have just moved your son into the older age group, not given yourself the right to care for an extra child overall.

U've got me thinkin now bout my numbers an ive got ofsted comin this week so need 2 make sure im doin it rite

I am registered for 3 under 8's of these no more 2 can be under 5 and of these 2 no more than 1 under 1 (plus my own child who is 22mths).

So I have got

M (22mths) 3 days a wk
L (4) after school he is in reception - 5 in dec
O (22mths) 2 mornings a wk
E (22mths) my son

So in the school holidays on 1 morning I will have 3 (inc my son) under 2 and L who is 4 but in full time education am I ok with this? or is it puttin me over my numbers or do i need 2 get ofsted 2 change my cert.

Im so confused now I thought I had it rite in my head..

The 4 year old who is in full time school, counts as in your 5-8 year group as far as numbers are concerned.

Don't forget that the 4 year old is still covered by the EYFS until the 31st August following their 5th birthday, so you need to show how you are meeting that.

You certificate numbers do not include your own children and as you only have 3 others and you are allowed 3 under 8 you are fine.
