Hi I wanted to do the NVQ level 3 next year but I spoke to a few people at the CM drop in and they told me my council are not funding the course next year and it will cost £1500. I cant really afford this so I am a bit gutted. Can anyone recommend any other courses.

£1500 sounds a lot!

I'd contact your Early Years Department to check out what you've been told - it might not be correct.

In our area it is funded, but there is a waiting list.

I believe I am at least another month away from being at the top  .

We only have to pay £75 but I did see it say on the form that the real cost was £1800.

Can't help on what other course you could do except units 2-5 of the DHC ?

my area has also ceased funding at the moment and also the train to gain funds have all dried up. i have just got myself on an NVQ3 that is fully funded
but only applies to london and the south east

speak to the local colleges direct. If you get working families tax credits then the college might be able to access funding that way.

Thats how I got onto mine for free!

Have you tried contacting Train to Gain? My friend missed out on funding and got 80% of it paid for by them. Might be worth a try.
I will try to get some contact details for you when I see her on Monday.
