Hi, just had my first pre reg briefing this morning - back in 2 weeks then pre reg visit, first aid course, and ofsted visit - but no ICP course till January! Course leader says I may be registered by Christmas but I'm unsure about starting or even advertising until I've done the course - surely they will teach me valuable things I should know before I start (?).

Does anyone know of a distance course of icp?

I did mine with a distance learning, but it was a local one, the council told me I had to do it with the one I did or NEC to get funding. Have to say though they gave me a few notes and that was it so I just did the exam and passed, there isn't anything hard (or new) in it.

I did it throught the NEC, really simple and easy. I did it in 4 evenings in the comfort of my own home instead of having to traipse to the local colleage for 8 weeks, 2 hrs per session!

More expensive than the college but imo worth it.

Hiya I also did mine through NEC (National Extension College) the ICP then advances on to Diploma in Homebased childare, you will receive funding through your local authority, it's a level 3, soon all childminders will need a level 3 in childcare.
