Liaising with other providers

If all goes well (cos the contracts are not signed yet!) I will be having a 9 month old one day a week from start of October. She will spend a further 2 days a week with another minder and the rest of the week with mum and dad. Any suggestions how I should go about linking in with her other minder?

I had a child who went to another minder too. I asked the mum for the name and phone number of the other minder but she wasn't keen to give it to me. I then completed a daily diary and said the other childminder could write in it, she never did and she never tried to contact me. Luckily he has now left the other childminder and now just comes to me :)

You mum and the other cm should all be communicating as per statutory framework, but you must get mums premission to do this in writing (as must the other cm) if she refuses you can't make her but it is best practice
