Out of all the cm I know most are regged for any 4 at one time (upto 12 or 16 - certs vary) or for 6 at one time again upto 12 or 16 - has it always been that we are different to the rest of the UK numbers wise?

What are you regged for?

This really restricts our income, although I wouldn't want to take on more than 4 in one go anyway but I was just thinking :)

I'm registered for 4. It always worked well for me with dd and 3 others but now I have ds too I'm not sure it will be worth my while financially to go back to minding :(

Could that be 4 under school age??
If so, 4 full timers will bring in a fair wage:clapping:
Probably the same as 3 full time and 3 schoolies, at least in term time.

I'm reg for 6 including my own, so 3 under school age and 3 over and we are only allowed 1 under 1 at any 1 time

I'm registered for 7 under 12 of whom no more than 3 will not yet be attending primary school and of whom no more than 1 will be under 12 months!

That means 3 under 5's and 4 after schoolers. DD is one of them, DS is 13 so doesn't count on certificate anymore.

To begin with I will be reg for 6 of which no more than 3 not at school and no more than 1 under 1yo.

Cant remember if she said under 12 or 16 though:blush: will check when she comes out again.
So DS is at school 5yo and DD is 12 so that will be fab! (if i decide to do it)

Im reg for 6 including my 2 and its really only this year since both of mine are at school that its really sinking in about how much I can make haveing 3 pre-schoolers fulltime, not that I do as they are all parttimers but slot in nicely with each other.

hmmm I'm in a spacious 3 bed semi and am regged for only 4, 3 preschool of whom no more than 1 under 1, and one upto 16.

I can't see why it says 16, who on earth childminds 15yos?!

Why is there such a difference between Scotland and England, they can have the 6 under 8 in total plus as many over 8 as they feel able to have really. So different.

I think it can depend on the space you have, and the age of your own kids.

i think it was because i have a 14 and 11 year old so by the next inspection whether it is next year or the year after (hopefully - graded 5 in all areas) my dd will be 12 then.

I am registered for 6 at any one time. No more than 3 under 5 and no more than 1 under 1. I have 2 kids aged 10 and 3.

My CCO did say to me that I was only allowed to have 6 kids as I have childminded previously so I have some experience, otherwise it would have been less.

Last time it was 5 kids but that was about 6/7 years ago.

I think it is worth a look into, how long have you been minding?

I am registered for 3 under 5's including only 1 under 1 year and 1 school age = 4 total.

When my youngest daughter goes to school in 2 years I will ask for a variation to put my school numbers up to 2 so then I will be registered for 5.

im registered for 6, 3 under 5 of which only 1 can be under 12mths. I was initally only registered for 4(at my request as thats all i wanted) but i then signed up 2 brothers for 2 afterschool sessions a week which made it hard to get anyone else, so asked for it to be put up to 6. I definately wouldn't want 6 all the time but having that on my certificate allows a bit more flexibility or if my daughter wanted a friend round to play.

I am 6, 3 preschool 1 under 1 but mine under 16 which I did question as new childminders in the area are under 12, didn't get a straight answer though

I never realised that there was so much difference, thought we were all allowed 6 children under the age of 16.

hmmmm, not fair on those that are only allowed 4 kids and have kids of their own

I'm registered for 7 under 16 which includes 2 of my own - over 8yrs - dd 16 so not included any more but I think I got 7 because of age off dd and the fact that my cert is for under 16 yrs.

I also have a variation to have 4 under 5 4 out of 5 days.

going to look into this more.

That's rubbish, especially if you want to be registered for more and you don't know why you've not got the numbers just now.

If your getting Graded as sixes then surely the can't give you a good reason for not upping your numbers unless they say you've got to be minding for a certain length of time?

How long have you been minding?
