Training in Hertfordshire

Hello everyone

How are you getting on with your training? it is getting better and are you able to get the information out of the council and is the website being updated?

I know a couple of you were getting involved with NCMA and has this helped?

Hi Debbie. Thanks for asking. I was talking to my DO last week on this very topic! It hasn't improved a whole lot, in fact in truth not at all in terms of how the courses are advertized and what is delivered. The LA seems to keep popping extra courses on line willly nilly instead of sticking to the booking windows 3 times a year that they instigated!

Anyhow we have a network meeting in a couple of weeks and the DO is going to bring a list of the courses that we can book for ourselves and she will sort the booking etc out.

At least we did find that the few courses we got arranged last year we had no difficulty in getting the min of 12 attending, which was a worry when we started out.

No idea what is happening in the rest of the county but there is a Herts Childminder Forum meeting next week so I will have a better idea after that.
