How literally is "your registration certificate must be on display" to be taken?

I used to have mine on the wall but now I have it in a folder which all parents have immediate access to. When i interview its the first thing I show parents. therefore, as far as Im concerned, Im "displaying" it.

What I want to know is...does everyone, including the postman, need to see it on my walls? Or is "display" as open to interpretation as Ive taken it?

I assumed it had to be on the wall so mine is on the wall in the hall.

I have mine in a photo frame on a unit in my lounge and put it in a drawer when I'm not working

I think the certificate should be visible to all parents not in a folder even if they have free access to it.

i'm fairly sure it has to be on a wall or easily visible.

I thought it had to be openly visable too. Mine is on the wall in the dining room

I thought it had to actually be on a wall or door too so that it's permanently on display but could be wrong.

I thought it had to be somewhere viabale to everyone at all times, ie wall, notice board etc x

Mines laminated and on the wall in the hall , but when the front door is open you can't see ie postman or any old tom dick or harry cant see it but parents who come in can ! Clever :D

I'm sure it has to be on display and for some forgotten reason I moved mine from the playroom to my hall so everyone can immediately see it, along with my First Aid cert and Parents poster.

I was told it had to be on display, i.e. up on a wall, at all times whilst you're minding. It can be taken down when the kids go home.

To be honest, I don't think you can really say having it in a file is having it 'on display'. I believe it does literally mean having it on display like when they say you need your car park ticket on display, they don't mean that you put it in your glove compartment but that you will show it when requested if you see what I mean.

After 3 weeks of waiting, my hubby has finally put my notice board up in the porch. It is on the wall, so when the front door is open it is covered, so people on the doorstep can't see it, but parents can see it on their way out of the house.
The important certificates are on there. The rest are in a folder that I show parents.

I'm sure it does actually have to be put up on a wall, how you choose to do that is up to you! Mines in a frame to the entrance to my sitting room, whether anyone takes any notice of it I don't know! But its there....I'm proud of mine actually and couldnt wait to put it up!!!

Yes up on the wall mine is in the cloak room area of my ds loo where kids hang their coats an keep personal stuff and I took a copy to put in the portfolio I'm making for parents when they come to visit. and it prompts me to tell them where it is and when I walk them around I point it out to them then so its then up to them to keep a check on it I also do that with all the other things I have in there ins & complaints etc

i have mine on the parents notice board in the hall facing the door but when i am not minding i turn it round , this way if a parent coming for first meeting can not see my number and use it in fraud. i have a photo copy in my parents folder that i show them but this ones got my number blanked out.

Mine is in a photo frame in the play room.

However I do know other childminders that only put it on show when Ofsted are due a visit.

Hi there

I've put mine in an A4 clip frame and when I'm not working (which is 4 days out of 5 just now cause just registered), I put it in the drawer and put a framed photo up instead.

I know someone who basically puts up all her posters when she knows shes going to get a visit and takes them all down for the rest of the time! My house is covered in stuff!

I have now decided to take down my very-expensive-very-beautiful-antique-clock and relace it with my certificate! I now need to find a scrumtious frame for it!! Maybe I'll get the kids to make me one...earn extra Ofsted brownie points! :p :clapping:
