music and movement??

hi this is our theme for next week but other than the folowing i cant think of anything to do

dance to music, sing and with musical instruments

make shakers from bottles and paper plates

need some ideas please , also need some ideas as to what i could put in the tuff spot to go along with the theme please

wat abt games like musical statues or get the kids to close their eyes and see if they can recognise different sounds from some instruments :)

Ring games ring a ring a roses etc.
Ribbon or material to dance with.
Angelina ballerina stories.

Leafs crunching, can the children move like leafs falling, music to go with

Tuff spot ideas - water falling sound of the rain (rain makers), rice works well too and good inside (just need to hoover it all up lol) Tin foil, scrunching, collect leafs too. Put plastic bugs into them, and make the sound on bugs. Big beetle, a big deep sound, small little flies, gental soft sounds

Sounds of the trees swaying, fast and slow, using the rythm of sound to see how they go. Does that make sence, so if the music is slow, the trees and swaying softly, fast the a very windy day

it can fall under all 6 areas if you look more deeply:thumbsup: I would do theme then link everything, rather than just music and movement, does that make?? BUt then Ofsted told me I plan too deep lol

We have a music and movement session every day.

Sometimes I use my music bag. It has things like -

Toy bus - wheels on the bus;

Cat - pussy cat pussy cat where have you been?

Monkey - 3 little monkeys jumping on the bed...

The children love it! :D

oh brilliant thanks for the ideas, yes i am going to link it to all 6 areas, me and some other minders get together and do our planning i suggested doing musical insturments so we could make the alien shakers in the who minds mag then somone else suggsted adding movent so it became music and movement, we do a theme for a fortnight then move on to the next theme.
