Hello everyone

not sure where to post this but wondering if anyone can help

My mum lives about 4 hours away and (before I started childminding!) came to stay for 2-3 days a month usually on a week day.

Do I have to have her CRB checked if she wants to come and stay when I will be minding (she won't be having anything to do with the children in my care and will be in and out as I've made it clear to her I will be working)

Would Ofsted be happy to do a CRB if I need to get her one?

thanks for reading!

xx

As long as she is not ever left alone with the mindees then it should be ok without a Crb. She is not living with you just visiting.

I thought you had to get somebody CRB checked if they were a regular visitor?

I personally would ger her checked to be on the safe side.

I've phoned Ofsted today who were actually really helpful and said is not a problem (as she will not be around mindees) and they will do a CRB for her so are sending me out forms

yippee!! feel better now!
