Hi, I just wondered - do any of you have some sort of policy/procedure set out for children (if old enough) outlining what they should do in the event of you having a serious accident and are unable to contact parents yourself, if for example, you were unconscious?

Carry emergency contact cards and issue parents with same see Bromley Childminding Website don't know the exact link to them but they are great have a good look on the website ther are downloads all over it and I'm sure there is a policy that refers to the cards.

My emergency policy says what would happen if somethign happened to me... that I have ICE in my mobile phone and the person who answers will know what to do with the children... and that I carry emergency contact details for each child whenever we are out (on their medical form). :D

I am the same.

I carry all emergency contact numbers with me and an ICE document (as well as in Phone) so that all parents can be contacted and of course so that my family can also be contacted.

I have the ICE numbers on my phone. I have taught Isabelle (my daughter) how to dial 999 and what she needs to say to the lady or man on the phone - I am very impressed with her!! I have no worries that she wouldnt know what to do. I am teaching her our address at the moment and she is so nearly there!!!! I'd be relying on them tracing the number too though.

I also carry emergency info in my diary for the children I mind
