How long do variations last?

I need to request a variation soon as i'm due to start looking after one of my mindees baby brother, how long does a granted variation last? Do you tell Ofsted a specific date you would like it to end or do you ring to tell them you don't require it anymore

I asked ofsted the same and they said you just keep it as long as you want, I have a variation for twins under 1yr mon - fri, but its mine to keep :idea:

It states on my certificate for both of my variations that the variation lasts for as long as the child is in that age phase (ie Early Years) or until the child is no longer in my care.

Although my variations have been granted from 1st September until 18th September which is the period I asked for in the letter. This is also stated on my certificate.
