Go by train from south-west Wales to North yorkshire to pick up a car and not take a map or sat-nav?

Parents of my little mindee have:panic: . Supposed to pick up at 8 (normally 5) had call at 7 to say they would be a bit late as they were in Chester:angry: . LO is tucked up in travel cot now (14 mth). Just had call from grandma to say that they are now lost in Welshpool:mad: . If they don't get lost again they are still more than 2 hours away. Dh is doing his nut.

I agree - she is warm, snuggly and well looked after. Instead of lost in a car somewhere with arguing parents (they are bound to be blaming each other for geting lost - or is that just my house!!!!)

I childmind part-time as there isn't any enquireis here at the moment. Tomorrow is my other job at the local Family Centre 9am. Got to drop DD2 to grandma first.
Yesterday I spent 11 hours in recovery trucks coming back from Suffolk so I am dead on my feet.
Not registered for overnight care either - gonna have to call CSSIW tomorrow to explain the emergency care - writing incident report.

At least the little one is settled and happy with you. Has your dh gone to bed or is he waiting up for them as well?

You should have been okay as if they picked up and took home you didn't provide overnight care

Thanks. At the point I wrote that I was beginning togive up hope of them appearing. Just written a report in case there is a query at any time.

At least they rang & kept ringing every hourish. Had one years ago that rang once at 5.30 and nothing until 10.30pm when they collected:angry: .

But seriously, how many times can you get lost? South West Wales is not that hard to find for goodness sake, it's not like they are looking for a street, it's a quarter of a country and there are signposts!!!!!

I was also told today that they did go into Scotland at one point too:eek:

There was a story years ago about an elderly couple who were stopped after being spotted driving erratically round the m25.

They told the police they'd set off 9 hours earlier for Scotland

I am sure lo was in the best place :D

I should be so lucky! Although to give her her dues Mum appeared at lunchtime with the money for yesterday. I now just have to get the rest of what she owes me before she moves (although I know the new address & I have told her I will sit on her lawn with a sign  )
