Had a visit tonight for a 7mth old 4 days starting next Monday, lo is lovely think I am the only cm they are going to visit, they asked loads of questions and I think I gave them the answers they wanted to hear, they are away with a copy of my policys and welcome pack and said they will phone me tomorrow, Dad wants lo to come on Tues for a settle in so seems hopeful.
Only one problem I have never in my life changed a boys nappy

Just remember to point it down, not to the side or it goes straight out and down the leg!

Good luck! :clapping:

I'm intrigued! Why are boys nappy changes easier?

At least with girls you haven't got any bits to point in the right direction!!

Congratulations Joybells on signing the new mindee!

I think in my case Ive only strangley enough ever changed nappies on 2 girls!!
My neice when she was a baby, she's 12 now..and my friends little girl whom I looked after for a 9mths or so before I started childminding.
My own kids are boys and my mindee is a boy too, I guess its what your used to:o

boys nappies are a cinch and just so you know - because I had to ask a friend with a baby boy - you can be quite thorough cleaning their bits they don't have a sensation of pain for quite some time as you will see when they grab a handful and keep on pulling and pulling and pulling - to the point where grown men wince in pain!

On balance though having had a boy and a girl together the same age for the past 3 months - girls are easier as you don't have placement issues or bits of poo in their scrotum to try and clean :) well thats my view anyway

When I started minding I had never changed a girl's nappy. I was really worried that I wouldn't do it right what with boys bits being on the outside an' all. Couldn't ask any of my fellow minders as they would have laughed at me!

You will be fine and well done for getting the contract.

Seen one nappy, you've seen 'em all:laughing:

Boys nappies are easy. Just make sure their willy's pointing downwards or they'll pee up themselves!!!
I'm the opposite never changed a little girls nappy!

I have two boys and have a little nappy changing tip.....

if they've done a poo and your spending a while cleaning them all up or whatever, drape a baby wipe over their willy and then if they do wee you dont get soaked.
