View Full Version : Easy peasy American cheesecake

I want to share this recipe with you all.
I made it with the children, it involves lots of mixing which is good for very small ones, my 2 yr old mindee, loved stiring, stiring.
You will need
vanilla sponge cake (genoise)
8oz caster sugar
3 tbl sp cornflour
675g soft cream cheese
tsp vanilla essence
2 eggs
10fl oz whipping cream
Oven gas 4, 10 inch loose bottom tin, line the tin with grease proof paper then 1inch slices of the cake.
Mix together the sugar and cornflour, then beat in the cream cheese to a creamy texture. beat in the eggs and vanilla essence. slowly pour in cream and mix again( stiring, stiring):)
Pour the mixture over the sponge base in the tin.( how easy was that)
sit the tin in a tray of water 1inch deap ( ban marie). place in the pre heated oven and bake for 45 mins or untill golden.
Remove from oven and leave to completely cool and set before removing from
tin. I love it still warm and slightly runny in the middle. the children love it too.
