hi going pond dipping on monday and wonded if anyone had any related activite ideas or print outs to go with it? like pictures to colour in and stuff

how about a book to try to identify what you find in your nets.

draw/paint them afterwards

count number of each - using tally charts (for older ones)

This is something I have not done, sounds brill fun, although I have no ponds near me:(

this isnt a pond we are going to but a river but its a bit of the river that spreads out in to a wider bit that has no current in it, there is also another part of the river that runs gently were i might take the older ones to one day , maybe you could find a gentle bit of a river?

What about Ferry meadows?. Tiptoe through the goose poo to the edge, there must be something to catch in a net there? Or sit on the wobbly bridge and dip in there, then they can't fall in.
