You can claim back a percentage (depending on how many hours you work a week) for rent but claiming mortgage is a whole different ball game.

The reason for this is that it then delves into the areas of Capital Gains Tax and this is because you will more than likely make a profit on the property and are therefore liable to pay tax on that profit.
