hi im a new childminder who became registered in June 09. I brought a few things before i became registered the earliest recipt is from March up to the present date.

Now for the question! As part of my recipts are from the previous tax year how do i claim for them in my expenses book? as i think im correct in thinking that the account book i was given relates to this tax year only as i wasnt self employed in the last tax year so dont have to do a return for that year how to i claim for these expenses??

I was in the same situation last year. On the top line on the first page of the accounts book I started with pre tax year start up costs, just put the total amount and kept the receipts in case the taxman wanted to check.

I would do the same as the previous post as it isn't worth the money for another book.
