story sacks

morning everyone:)

im looking to buy some story sacks and wondered if anyone could recommend a good place to get them.

ive seen on ebay quite a few people selling story sack resources on disc to be printed of, has anyone used these, if so what sort of quality are they:D

Hello,
I have just made my own for the hungry caterpillar. I brought a canvas draw string bag for 79p and I have the book, audio cd, counting sticker book, butterfly hand puppet and soft toy caterpillar. I am making felt cut outs of the food using velcro on the back that can be stuck to a velcro board by the children. For older children you can add a book about the life cycle of a butterfly and a couple of games associated with the story. Also doing old macdonald using a farmer hand puppet, plastic animals, a book about tracters, and a story book about a farm. Ready made sacks are very expensive, not sure about ebay discs but probably just as easy to print your own resources . Sparkle box and the under fives websites have lots on them. Hope that helps.:)

I got my bags from clever baggers, good value and quick delivery, you can also put the book inside and trace round the outline of the caterpillar and colour with fabric pens ( amazon had cheap ones ). I did this as I am rubbish at drawing and it looks really good. Have also done a song bag which is good fun.

I make them myself - the children really enjoy foraging around for resources and bringing some from home :D

I'm looking after my daughter's primary school's storysacks at the moment.
I'm in the process of cataloging them and providing storage space as they are totally gutting the classrooms over the holidays.
There are 29 sacks and they all consist of:
A book
A non-fiction book (factual)
Parent's guide
Suggestion board
A game, puzzle or cards
Soft toy characters
For example the 'Gruffalo', has the book and CD, book about forests, Monster-Match game, Soft toys are;Gruffalo, snake, Owl, Mouse and Fox.
Lots of things do go missing but if we have a photographic record there is (hopefully) a better chance that things can be returned.
