At the moment I have one 3 yr old who sits on a stool at a low for meal and snack times.

Next week I have a 14 month old and 18 month old starting. Whilst they might sit on the stools I have, I doubt they will stay there for the entire meal time!!

I have one quite chunky highchair but its too big to store really and I certainly couldnt store 2!

So I am thinking of getting a couple of booster seats and having the little one sit at my dining table instead.

So what do you think of these ones:

I like the fact that they are 5 point harnesses as most boosters seem to just have a lap and crutch strap.

(PS What I would really like is 2 of these but they are rather expensive:

They have them at the local children's centre and they are perfect for little ones to sit at the low tables)

i like the mothercare one, might go get a couple of them myself:laughing: i like the 5point harness as well:laughing: i dont really use my highchairs any more as i prefer the booster seats, but one of the highchairs i have is the "on the move highchair" i think thats what its called but it folds up very compact:) :)

I did think about getting a couple of basic highchairs that fold flat but then they dont go to a low setting. I want them all to be able to sit at the same level - whether its at the big or little table.

We looked at them in Mothercare yesterday and they looked really sturdy. A good price too. But the 5 point harness was a definite plus especilly for the 14month old. They do a padded version £35 but I dont think I need the padding for the ages of the children i am having.

hi i wouldn't worry too much about the five point harness, i have a couple of really old boosters that don't have them but i attached a pair of reins to the chair and use them. it depends what your chairs are like though and if you could do that.
i find boosters are much better than high chairs

I have this highchair. The legs just pop off leaving a seat the same size as a booster to store. I think the chair part will stack so if I needed more than one they would still store very easily.

I used to use booster chairs but I got so sick and tired of putting them on and taking them off the chairs all the time that I got this chair instead. Although they don't fold flat I don't find them to be a problem with storage because of the legs popping off, and we have a tiny house with 5 of us living here inc 2 teenage boys - so storage and space is a premium.

I looked at those Ikea ones and wasnt sure how easy it was to pop the legs off. Are they just the little buttons you press in and slide the leg out?

It would be just as easy to store the seats as it would a folded booster seat and the legs are not a problem to accomodate either.

The idea of putting the booster seats on and off doesnt appeal. I only have 4 seats at my table so would have to take the 2 boosters off every evening for us to sit and have dinner.

I need to go to Ikea soon anyway so might pick a couple up. Thanks

I have the IKEA one and love it- legs pop off in seconds and with them on the chairs stack. The seat bit can go through the dishwasher too - fab! I also have 2 tripp trapps that I just pop a baby bar on if necessary - also fab but an expensive option.

Hi Helen,
I have the mealtime chairs from community playthings - your right they are expensive but they are great little chairs if your budget can stretch to it.

These are what I really would like and think if I get anything else I would be disappointed.

I like the idea of them being at my low table so they can sit in them to join in crafts and other things too.

I dont actually need both of them til September so I can get away with using my highchair until then and save up in the meantime for the Community Playthings ones!!

These are similar to the community ones at half the price and you could get rid of the table http://www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-Pine-cube-convertible-highchair/dp/B000M515Q6/sr=1-1/qid=1248454914/ref=sr_1_1/279-2082777-7626064?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=42862041&mcb=core they have a strap and tray to attach.

I like the Mothercare chairs but understand your point of having to remove them every evening. I have seen and used one of the ones from community playthings and they are good. They stack as well I think.
I still use a booster but was also given a highchair that can sit at different heights so use that too! We do crafts at my dining table (have a special craft cloth to cover it) and therefore use booster and highchair so lo's can be included with the big ones! :)

I looked at these. I dont need the table bit though as I have an Ikea low round table that they can sit at. But I might look on Ebay for this type of highchair going cheap and then just use the chair part.

I like the mothercare one. I have 2 with the three way harness but they were £20 each. I think the extra cash is well worth it for the better harness. I never use them unless children are full able to sit upright with the three way otherwise they might just sit over and bop their heads on the table but with the 5 way you could use them earlier.

I have one of the Mothercase highchairs that folds in half. It was available 6 months ago in red but looks the same as the one in your link of In the Night Garden. They are £50.00 and fold behind my ironing board well.
