Are you on this site?

http://www.childmindingnorthants.org.uk/

As far as I was aware you only needed an username and password if you are using their advertising bit on the site

you will be registered with them ofsted send them a down load every two weeks of the newly registered child minder and then you should get avisit from your local development worker with a welcome pack.if you wish to advitize with then on the site you will have to pay 10 pound and then you will get a password and stuff.you will also get a blue(i think) form from the fis and then you will be added on the childcare lnk site if you agree to that and your name will be sent out to parents that ring then and you fall into there postcode area.

give the nca a ring on : 0845 838 3724 and ask if you want to advitize
and you can ring the fis on 01604 237 935 to see if they have your details yet and if they are right should get the prosess started for you and good luck

if you don't mind me asking what part of northamptonshire are you in

My development worker came round my house last week but unfortunately I was on holiday posted a note asking em to give her a call and posted the welcome pack that tammerisk was on about.

This all happend around 3/4 weeks after I got my registration certificate, so that might give you an idea how long you have to wait, i'm just down the road in Kettering

all the above is correct re the nca - they will also now link you to a sure start childrens centre and/or childminders support group. totally recommend going to your local group as its a good way to get any new info, a chance for kids to socialise plus once you're known to others, you'll find that other minders will give your name out to any prospective parents if you have spaces and they dont.
hope this helps
:)

A Minding Matters leaflet for new minders

The latest Minding Matters leaflet

A data collection form for FIS (families information service)

3 leaflets about childminding in Northamptonshire

A leaflet about local toy library (in Northampton)

Kerrie, I can't get to Irchester, otherwise I would love to have met up with you there. You'll have to PM me when you're free and we can meet up at the park/lakes. :) Chell, you're more than welcome to come too. x
