Shifts?

Can anyone tell me what they do if parents work shifts therefore will not know what days etc will need as will vary week to week?

I have worked with shifts quite a lot and i normally do one of two things.

Agree a retainer on any days/slots not used or

charge a minimum fee each week.

I have shift worker parents.

We agreed a minimum amount of hours per week that they pay for regardless of whether they use them or not. If I work weekends they pay a top up on the hours worked as I charge more for weekend work

I haven't had this but a friend has.She got a variation so she could have a place for him when needed but not tie up a full time place.

I charge a minimum amount too whether they use the hours or not, this was agreed when the parent went onto shifts and they were more than happy with this arrangement.
