Well my registration is well underway, I receieved my disclosure back this afternoon and I also had my first chat with a mother looking for a minder for her two children (6m & 18m)
Our contact came via another childminder who knows me. After out first telephone chat I made it clear from the start that I was not yet registered and would be unable to help until I was. She was fine with that as she does not need one until the end of August.
First meet went very well. She is happy to have me as her minder for her children once I am registered. Only one day a week progressing to two later in the year. And I will also be minding her 6y old after school.
Very happy. I was nervous as it was my first meeting as I felt some mothers might not want a childminder who has no children of their own but my fears were soon dismissed.
