i currently give mindees 2 weeks free holiday - parents let me know when they want to take the free weeks and sign a form to say its booked and the child won't be attending etc

anyway i have been asked by another minder the possibility of having one of her little ones when she is away and it falls on one of my mindees free holiday weeks.

so can i help the other minder out as the child isn't using the place?

Yes, that is fine for you to have the other children.

As you are not taking a retainer or any sort of payment for those 2 weeks, you are not obliged to be available for them.

I think so, worst that could happen is they cancel their holiday but if you had booked to go away same time as them you wouldn't be around so I don't think it's any different that you are working but full, if you see what I mean.

No question about it YES. I have had mindees on holiday and still taken on another in their place.

If it makes you feel better, then ask your mindees parents if they want to pay full rate to keep the place open in case they need it for whatever reason. At least then you have given them the choice.
