Can I spend £100 on a sandpit and claim. Only want one coz i'm minding. Looked at cheaper ones but not very stable, saw two in toys r us but wasn't sure i could put through my books. so didn't get one. has to be one on legs that won't colapse with two two yr olds at it.

Is this an acceptable amount?

Links don't work for me either but I would have no problem putting through my accounts. I often buy top quality products that I know will last as I don't want to be replacing them every 5 mins and if they are for minding they all go through my acounts

Don't see why not - i have also started spending more on better quality toys than lots of cheap ones that only last a few weeks - it doesn't work out anymore expensive in the long run than having to keep replacing things!

I can't get the links to work either.

Yes you can put it through your books as long as you have a receipt

you can put it through your books as you will use it for childminding.
As long as you can justify it in case someone asks (which I don't think they will) then it is ok anyways.
I think the only time they would really question your expenses if they exceed a certain %age of you total income
So if you earned 1000 but claimed 900 as expenses I guess that would raise some questions....iyswim
