haven't got website open in front of me so excuse errors in terminology but maybe:

learning about and respecting other's cultures and backgrounds. Developing image of self perhaps through recognising how different they are, or if your carnival theme relates perhaps to their own background.

Certainly socialising through dancing and being with others (if you are having your own mini carnival/carnival dances).

Helping each other, and sharing - if they are sharing the resources or taking turns in a game or with books that you are looking at.

If you have a story about carnivals, being in a group.

Developing idea of self as strong and independent if they are taking your theme and using dress up and music to create own imaginative play.

Looking at photos of themselves dressed up and seeing them recognise themselves and others in the photos helps establish self identity.

carnival type music might get them quite excitable so how their emotions feel and what cause this, learning about how things affect their emotions and perhaps behaviour management if they get out of hand!

Hope that helps a bit.

Link it to dispositions and attitudes p.26 and p.27 then record their reactions and interest in the activities
