Can I claim for a ipod touch and speaker set? We don't have a stereo and I don't want a big one. I want something portable so we can take outside and listen to music. I wouldn't be getting any thing that plays music if i wasn't minding? (Have my laptop at moment and my hubby has an ipod shuffle for work!)

If you call IR they will tell you, personally I wouldn't as I wouldn't me able to justify it to an inspector.

I don't think you could get away with claiming for this. If you want to listen to music i would have thought the tax man would argue that it can be done for less money. You would also have to show that it was to be used solely for minding purposes.

i wouldnt try claiming this unless you have written conformation from the tax people that its ok - i wouldnt want to risk prompting an audit.
i think we need to be realistic about whats claimable and whats not esp with reference to all those MPs who have thought they were safe and have now had to repay thousands!! i tend to err on the side of caution. very boring but safe! :ohdear:

I wouldn't think so either especially as you can pick up cd players for £10-£20.

Seems a bit excessive and unbelieveable if audited. I brought a portable cd player for £20 at currys with the old fasioned cd's!!
