Dear Colleague

Our revised complaints commitment

From May 2009 we are revising our complaints commitment. This is because we want to ensure parents and carers have the most up to date information about those who they choose to provide care for their child.

Our commitment means that we will:

 publish new complaints information on our website, separate from inspection reports as soon as we have completed an investigation

 continue to publish information relating to complaints, made against childminders or childcare providers, only in circumstances where we, or the provider, take action to meet the legal requirements of registration

 publish historic information about complaints received since a provider’s last inspection where we, or the provider, took action to meet legal requirements

 remove complaints information from our website five years after the closure of the complaint investigation.

Information about complaints received prior to a provider’s last inspection will remain accessible in the last inspection report. This is to ensure that parents and carers can access a full history of complaint information. We will make complaints information available on request to people who are unable to access our website either in writing or over the telephone.

I would be grateful if you can include information about our complaints commitment in future correspondence with the providers of childminding or childcare in your local authority.

We will be publishing our complaints commitment on our website in May, and will include information in our regular publications, such as Ofsted news.

If you have any questions about our complaints commitment please telephone us on 08456 404040. Thank you in advance for ensuring that this change is communicated to those who provide care for children in your authority.

Yours sincerely

aarrrrr thats why!!! penny drops lol

as i looked on ofsteds reports the first 6 were old reports but updated to show complaints added on,, so instead of waiting till your next inspection for any complaints to be advertised on line, they will be added to your last report information have a look its difficult to explain xx
