childminding and fostering

I have always wanted to foster children and wondered if there is anyone on the forum which does both- Childminding and Fostering.
Although fostering isn't something im looking at doing now was just wondering how childminding would affect it for the future.
Any advice would be great!!!:laughing:

Hi I am a recently registered childminder, and am currently in the process of registering as a foster carer, SS (sorry family services as they are this week) have no problems with me childminding, as they like one parent to be at home all the time.

I approached two agencies, but was told I couldnt do both!

I gave up the idea after that as I didnt want to let any of my families down, and had thought about fostering and winding down the childminding as children left.

Its a shame as I think I would have enjoyed it.
