Nor does derbyshire, Ive been asking for ages for a website with some downloads - we've been left to get with it. Why dont local authorities do what we do and steal things/ideas/inspiration from other people!

The risk assessment and risk assessment for outings is fantastic on this site. Its well worth printing off.

Ive used it to make sure I cover everything in my own risk assessments and use the outings one for each time we go out, its brilliant!

I was on a RA training this week and thye gave us a hard copy and are also sending us Ecopies - it's a different system though but far easier imo less work for us ;)

Thats great, I keep asking my LA for e-copies as I like to print them off when required. Unfortunately my LA dont offer this and therefore a trip to the library for photocopying takes an hour a month! LA's really need to get with the times.

I'm actually in SGloucs and the childminder development team are really great!
They do home visits and even stay all morning if you need them to.
They also run losts of FREE courses for childminders. I feel quite lucky to be in this county.

Hi thanks for that link. I'm actually in South Glos they're a fantastic council as far as cm support is concerned. I wonder if you can help me with something. I've just printed out the risk assessment for outings form. Do I need to print out several and use one for each type of outing ie. the different toddler groups, the different parks, visiting friends houses, different softplays etc.....

If you went to several of these establishments you'd have a lot of ra's.

thanks

Yep you need one RA for each type of outing... I have over 25  and they took AGES to do but Ofsted were pleased with them. :clapping:

Thanks for the link btw, lots of useful info there. :)

I've printed out several copies of the outing's template and complete them for every outing we go on - yes it takes 10 minutes in the morning before the kids arrive, but they are filling up my folder ready to show at my next inspection.

I found this template very generic and I am able to add specific measures to individual outings we go on. I initially tried to have pre-typed risk assessments in place for different outings e.g mondays childminding group or wednesdays playgroup, but it depends on what children I have on that day, how we'll get there, the weather and whats happening at the group. I found a generic risk assessment like the template on this website much easier to apply to every outing situation.

I'm in South Gloucs like Tammy and these sheets are very good and our developmental worker whose name starts with A is a gem!
I've done RA for lots of outings and sometimes I might go somewhere new and take a RA sheet with me (mostly completed) and then when I get to the place I'll make a note of all the other things.
Lots of these places I would not even get to visit beforehand (playgroups) so sometimes you have to go out with no RA, but have the sheet on you as an on-going job, IYKWIM?

Hi Helen and welcome to the forum.

This particular thread is over 3 years old but the first post directs to a site giving examples of risk assessments and these are the ones I mainly use as I find them very good - below is the link to the outings RA

Hi does anyone have a risk assessment for communicable diseases and what to do if one of their children has an infectious disease?
I can't find one online and just need an idea on how it should be set out. Thank you.
