Mum of my one and only mindee has given notice today. She has a job in the town she lives in so won't need me:( . So not minding in 4 weeks:( . She is very apologetic and says that she will write me loads of lovely references and if things don't work out and she comes back to the job here I can have him again - but I won't hold my breath as she will be earning more money with no travelling:( .

It is a pain isnt it, i hope that you get something really soon, can you advertise for emergency cover etc with holidays coming up, marketing yourself as available to cover when your usual childminder goes on holiday etc as well as having full time vacancies.

We are having a lean period, like the being less busy but not keen on the lack of income!

Thanks everyone.

I have one extra day next week to cover a minder on holiday and someone else has asked me to have their LO the following week for one day while they go to IKEA.

One minder in the local group has had to go out to work as she was empty too although she is in the next town.

Lots of people ask if I have spaces but they don't have jobs yet:rolleyes: so I keep saying I have spaces at the moment, fairly obviously none want to definate book (and pay retainer) as they don't know how long it will be finding a job.

Luckily I have a part-time/temp job at the minute (Phew) where I can stay til the end of the year.
