My mindee gets rocked to sleep in his buggy at home for daytime naps and I've had enough of doing it! :panic: He wasn't getting good quality sleep and was getting increasingly grumpy. I also had my ds wanting my attention when I was rocking mindee to sleep and then having to tip toe around he eventually did drop off.

I checked with mindee's mum if she would mind me trying the travel cot and she said it was fine. So this moring he settled down after about 15 mins, I did have to pat his tummy but even so!! Obviously there are times when they sleep in their buggy's but I do feel a 1 year old needs a decent nap.:)

I am a firm believer that children need to sleep in proper cots/beds whenever possible. When in a buggy or car seat they are not lying flat and this can't be good for them. They also need peace and quiet and an environment which sustains sleep.

Excellent! I'm just going through that with one of mine - he sleeps so much better in the cot.

Well done you!

I had a mindee whose parents wanted me to cuddle him to sleep. I refused to do it just for the simple reason that I had other children to care for and they couldn't be expected to play silently while this one dropped off to sleep.

I tried the travel cot and he took SO long to fall asleep - but I perservered and after 3 days he was dropping off by himself within 10 mins.
You won;t even have to pat his stomach for long - he will soon learn to fall alseep by himself!

Well done, my daughter has never gone to sleep in buggies, even when she was a baby i put her in the moses basket or cot. I think as soon as you get them used to sleeping in a cot the easier it will be for the parent.
