Could anyone recommend a speaker or someone who could hold a workshop for our childminding conference next year.

I know it's early but people get booked up so quickly.

The conference is being held just outside of Oxford.

We usually have 4 workshops and one key note speaker.

In past years we've had Jenny Tassoni, Jenny Lindon and Jane Cole who were brilliant.

Any suggestions will help.

I love Jenni Lyndon. She is so pro childminders and homebased care. I think she should run Ofsted. :)

Having just attended the Hertfordshire Conference I can highly recommend Alison John as a Keynote Speaker. She has spoken at National conferences and has provided several training sessions on Disability awareness (or as she calls Impediment Training!)She had us all in fits of laughter whilst having a serious side. I dont think anyone would be disappointed:thumbsup:

Does anyone else have any ideas for this thread?

someone I met at a training event (or was it on here!?!) told me they had John Bowlby's son speak at a training event.

That would be fab. Or Tina Bruce or Helen Penn (if you could get them). Tina was all about freeflow play and it's benefits but writes about everything and Penn has been involved in lots of family social research.

Also maybe anyone of the authors of the EPPE or REPEY studies into early years pedagogy. Most of them already lecture at uni's so don't know how expensive they would be.

Good luck. let us know who you book.

LOL

Cheers:thumbsup: I am going to my first NCMA regional committee meeting on Saturday and thought I had better take something along with me;) I remember Cherry starting this thread and thought it is always better to get someone that others think are interesting. Our workshop this weekend is Signing with Olli so looking forward to that.

I would recommend Maria Robinson too! Have been on a couple of her training courses and could have listened to her all day!
