My new 13 month old mindee starts tomorrow and my stupid body decides to come down with a rotten cold :crying:

I am stuck in bed, have used a million tissues and I feel absolutely rotten :(

I know the answer is simple - tough - I will be working tomorrow regardless of how I feel but it just seems so unfair that I have to get ill now

Only got the school pick up to do today thankfully

Ugh I hate being ill and I hate colds they are so pointless!!!!

I'vewoken with a cold this morning too...nothing major though, just sniffles. Joseph has woken with a cold, temp & dore throat & Grace has a temp, but I think that is teething (she has top SIX coming through all at once poor love)! Oh & Charlotte is moaning her neck is hurting (& I'm preying she has slept funney & she's not coming down with something serious)!:panic:

Hope you make a super speedy recovery!:)

That's rotten luck.

I'd start taking echinacea today, it works wonders on colds.

I've found this is the best one: http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10052&productId=2257&callingViewName=&langId=-1&catalogId=11051

Also get some effervescent vitamin c tablets to take.

I know how you feel too. Had quite bad cold last week, still got remnants of it. My parents didn't even comment and i know if it was them they would have taken time off.
Top tip: if you are feeling really bad take Lemsip flu 12 hr tablets. You get them over the counter at the pharmacy and only take 2 every 12 hrs. I use them as a last resort but they do work.

Also, pleaty of honey and lemon and vit c. Keep yr strength up as us childminders find it hard to justify a day off sick...We must be like Super Woman

Anyway, I really hope you feel better soon x

Thanks for all the well wishes guys xxx

My mindee after school made me laugh, she was a little angel but wouldn't let me touch the toys in case I gave her my germs! Fair enough I say!

Her mum was lovely when she picked her up (even if she did joke about me having swine flu  ) said if I really didn't feel well tomorrow just let her know it wasn't a problem and she would pick M up from school she also wished me better too :)
She said I should cancel J tomorrow - I want to (I feel that bad :( ) - but really feel I can't. The mum works nights so I am looking after J while she sleeps during the day - I hope she doesn't decide she doesn't want t leave him with me?

Thanks for the tip about the echinacea Mouse - I have asked dp to pick some up on his way home :clapping:
