Just an idea ...

Make your normal chocolate cornflake cakes, put the mixture in the bun cases, put 2 or 3 mini coloured eggs on top and put in the fridge for an hour to harden.

When they've set, take the cases off and put them on a plate to serve they look just like little nests with egss in!

Very sweet!

Let me know if you need the recipe for cornflake cakes.

A little story, i pulled out of the trial for the surrey QA scheme because i had put in a photo of all my mindees and my daughter showing the easter egg nest cakes they had made. I got told to take it out as they were not healthy:panic:

They suggested i put in a photo of them making WAIT FOR IT...easter fruit kabab:eek:

I told them i was not going to lie and that it was the last straw. Out of the 5 minders on it 3 had already dropped out and i made 4.

Oh that sounds so disappointing Wendy. There's nothing wrong with kiddies eating a little choc at easter or any other time me thinks!

It was such a lovely photo, they had big smiles and were SO proud of their easter nest cakes. It was a good job i did not put a photo in of the gingerbread house we made at christmas.:jump for joy:

How silly! There's a time and a place for all kinds of food including healthy eating...

I think they've taken it far too far! I hope the children weren't too disappointed! :(

As you've all said it's ridiculous. Any nutritionist will tell you that to 'demonize' certain foods can cause problems later on. Of course we should
promote healthy eating and ensure that we all have our five a day but to put a blanket ban on sweet food is unproductive. We all know that forbidden fruit is the tastiest:D . A child who is deprived of the occasional treat will crave them all the more.

Top Tip!

To give your Easter Nests a more 'nesty' appearance use shredded wheat instead of cornflakes
