i have had an enquiry about babysitting in the evenings for a 4 month old and 5 year old, that they said would most likely be just one at a time and occasionally on there own.

so how much do you charge? is it per hour per child or for babysitting do you just have one hourly fee

Its under my unsociable hours policy. I charge £6 an hour for babysitting

Not sure about babysitting I know my daughter earns loads more than me per hour though

I think Lorri and some of the others do babysitting so maybe they can help you

Good luck

I charge £7.50 an hour with a minimum of 4 hours worked.

I have one regular family who ask me twice a week but recently I havent been able to help out so my 18 year old sister in law now does it and they pay her the same!

I charge £7.50 as its not something I am mad keen to do so will only do it for this amount.

I do babysitting for a couple of regularish families and charge £5 p/h.

Maybe I should charge more!

I think that's a fair amount for me as it adds quite a bit onto their expenses and it makes me some nice extra money for not doing much!

yes it would be classed as unsociable and i would charge £6.50 per hour not per child!
I havent ever advertised as babysitter in there home, because really your only registered for care in your property, but im guessing its better to babysit children as a childminder rather than just some random person.:o

I would babysit as long as It was at my house. The thought of going to someones house all night at the weekend really doesn't appeal to me. I am thinking of charging £25 for a saturday night...pick up no later than 11.00pm

That's £25 for one child £30 for more.

I would prefer to babysit in my own home. im thinking if they are going to be late in they will not want to be picking up there children and waking them at midnight. i dont mind being in someone elses home as im not planning on doing this very regular, just till childminding picks up. then if i did do this then i would say im doing it from home.
