Can anyone advise as to whether or not we would need employers liability insurance for pupils under 16 on work experience from schools.

yes you need it but call the NCMA tell them you need it for students they will send it out for free... it is only £5.00 but free for student use.

The school you plan to team up with should give you this information and will go through health and safety with you too such as no earings, student cant handle bodily fluids etc but may do light housework related to the role of a cm ... I had my student help me clean toys when we found that the LO was off sick for the day.

I thought that the college sending the student will have PL?

when I used to take on work experience students in an office, we at the office had to cover the insurance when on our premises. That's why we didn't take them under 16.
