I would have thought it may be a bit boring for the 5 year olds. The end has a monster who may also frighten them.:)

I took my mindees to see it, the youngest one is five and in hindsight, I wouldn't have taken him. He liked it, but didn't really understand it and it can be a bit scary! Stick to the animated ones, they are pretty harmless!

You should have prior consent from the parents to allow the children to watch a PC film. I must say I only let the under 8s watch U films and in fact there is such a range of very good U films and we watch so few it is not an issue with with the over 8s.

I'd say no.
I'd say first of all that little ones would not be able to get the guist of it and it would bore them.(it did my 6 year old and she is usually quite savvy about whats going on ).
The ending is also quite scary with the shadow and people disintegrating.
Also the story is about a mum disappearing into a book when read at bedtime....so be careful with nightmares!

I love this film, it has Paul Bettany(A Knights Tale) and Brendon Frasier(The Mummy), so worth a watch without the kids!:D

it's a fab movie, but honestly a bit too grown up for younger kids
