If you are working and only have one after school child, and your children want their friends to come round, do you need to stay within your registered numbers, or can you go over since you are not being paid to care for them?

You have to stay within your numbers I'm afraid, unless any are over eight.

Thanks Twinkles, I thought that would probably be the case.

Oh Susan that can't have been an easy thing to do - was your son ok with it?

This is a problem I have had to deal with over the years.....I was quite relieved when Jack reached 8 as it didn't cause those sorts of problems anymore.

I wondered this too. Its not a problem at the minute as i dont have children of my own but we are moving house at the end of the month and my niece and nephew will only live round the corner and they are 5 and 6 and wondered if they would be included in my numbers if they came round. So i'm glad you asked it's not a stupid question.
