My house phone is usually answered by DD anyway. My mobile I answer with my name if its office related, DD answers it if its family (and only if shes 100% sure, their name has to show on the screen), anyone else gets a 'Hello'

I have caller ID so I see if I know the number or not!

If I do, depending on who it is, they either get a nice happy hello or a what do you want now hello lol

If it is a number I dont know I put on my best hello voice!

I always answer in a cheery hello, and this has always worked well.

I do have an answerphone, which basically says 'Hi you have reached xxxx, sorry we cant get to the phone right now, please leave a name and number and we will get back to you or you can call me on my mobile xxxxxx'

If I can beat my ds (4) even tho he has been told not to answer it, i usually go with a smile and a "hello".

My hubby has been known to answer the phoning by identifying us as the CITY MORGUE!!!!! Needless to say he is generally banned from answering:) On a more practical note - I always just say a cheery hello.

Oh no, I thought my DH was the only one who did that.

Must remind him to be on his best behaviour FOREVER

I have caller ID as well... friends get 'hello' in a jolly voice...

Numbers I don't recognise get 'hello' in a quieter voice...

Unlisted numbers get 'hello' in a suspicious voice followed usually by 'if you think I am buying that crap you can think again' or something similar :D

My hubby had a phase of answering the phone as "McEwans Madhouse" until one day it was the Care commission and hes never done it again.

I just answer with a cheery HELLO

I have caller display so know who it is and decide if I answer the phone or not  Only joking unless it's the in-laws!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly I answer the phone with a big happy hello especially with held numbers as you are never sure who is on the other end of the phone!

My hubby does this, usually "Petes love emporium" if he knows who it is...or "Wang ton chinese, can I take your order"..that sort of thing.
