Ofsted Query

Hi

I just wondered, been childminding since August 2004, i had the registration visit then i was inspected in February 2005. Do Ofsted just turn up or do they ring you to arrange when they might come???

worried they might just turn up :eek: like to be able to plan!

I had a phone call and we arranged a week I was working and named 3 days that she would turn up on Mon Tue or Wed

They usually give you a few days notice of an inspection so don't worry.

Forget the coffee offer water it's healthier and they should lead by example!

Have a nice shepherd's pie or casserole slow cooking in the oven to show you plan healthy home cooked meals

Should be a walkover :laughing:

I heard somewhere that there not inspecting after March, is that true? My inspection is due this month but haven't heard anything.

I'm not sure anybody really knows... lots of rumours flying about :D

It seems there will no inspections from april until eyfs as Ofsted has to get ready to inspect the new requirements

crikey i will need that long to gen up on EYFS, done a two hour course too, still clear as mud!

Sorry I think it was one of my posts that scared you to death! As I have explained in my PM to you it is because I am in Wales!!

I have heard it from a very reliable source.......All inspectors will be receiving their training etc during April - August and therefore more than likely there will not be any ROUTINE inspections.

Another interesting point I heard at the weekend at the forum was that if you have gone past your expected 3 year date for inspection it would be good practise to ring Ofsted to remind them that it is due!!!!!!!

Oh god, thats me then - 4 years in May. I dont see why I should ring them. My Early years co-ordinator said last week it should be by end of March. If not heard at end of this month I might ring her but not Ofsted if I can help it.

Yes true but i am now scared to death! Had a dream they had come to my house last night, woke up in a hot sweat!
