I was just looking for a bit of advice, I have been avdertising for several months now but with no luck, my only full timer leaves in 4 weeks. I will only have a child Tue and Thurs for 3 rs each after school.

I the quiet spell keeps up are childminders entitled to any benefits.

Not sure but my hubs who is self employed has managed to claim a bit of dole money. I know of one childminder who claimed when she went through a bad patch.
you never know until you try but be warned you may have to jump through hoops and answer really stooopid questions thrown at you by the job center

yea, i ben told you can earn £60 per week before benefits are touhed (income support) but then when i had review i was told i work 16 hours before benefits are touched ...which tbh i cant see it being correct as we are under the min wage.

You have to be working under the 16 hours before you can claim.

The Job Centre can do a benefits check for you, give them a ring and make an appointment.

In Oxfordshire you can claim a sustainability grant, check with your Early years department to see if there's anything like it in your area, it's really easy to claim.

the 16 hour rule is disregarded if you are childminding so you can still claim income support. 2/3rds of your income is disregarded plus another £20 before your benefits are affected.
