Well...both Mum and Dad turned up and were really nice. Baby is adorable!!
Only problem is that Dad will be working offshore so they would want me (if they chose me, they are seeing 3 others) to have him for the 3 days for 3 weeks then not so often for the next 3 weeks when Dad onshore. I explained about having to charge them something due to loss of a potential place and money for those hours and they were ok with that. Not sure if I could manage on much less than what I had worked out for the original hours mentioned though. Think it might have to be a 'no' should they ring and say they wanted me to have baby :(
Actual 'interview' went well though :)

Glad it went well, even if you have to say no at least it should have given you some experience and confidence for the next time.

It's a difficult one with the dad being offshore, they will probably find it hard to find someone what can accomodate that.

Well done though!

That is great news

Maybe you could come to some sort of arrangment regarding hours etc

If this is your first child it would be better than nothing- maybe you could help them until they could find someone else

Or just try it for a while

Well done for doing well with the interview like it has been said it gives you the experience for the next time

Good luck whatever you decide to do

I think they'll struggle to find a minder round this way who WON'T charge them for the times dad is home, so don't assume that they won't want you ;)

Did you tell them how much you would charge for the 3 weeks dad isn't offshore?

Hate to say it too, but without meaning to sound moneygrabbing etc..- offshore=shedloads of cash ;)

I used to work for an offshore drilling company and they didn't actually earn that much, everyone used to think they did especially as it was an American company but the pay was quite poor!

Just going on people I know up here who are offshore near Shetlands and how much they earn and how much they houses they are buying are worth etc etc ;)

Sorry I missed your first post, glad you survived the first interview it can be quite daunting, as Angel said, if the couple are interested it would be handy to have a little money till somebody else comes along, you could always start with a short term contract and see how things progress, good luck with what you decide and with your next enquiries.
